Carbs Cravings. What to Do.

You are making a switch to eating mostly Real Food, but you are still craving carbs.

First, accept the fact that you have been addicted to carbs your whole life, and you will probably continue to be addicted to carbs - at least to some degree - for the rest of your life.

That said, here are additional things you need to pay attention to.

  • Eat larger portions of Meat or Fish with your meals. Both Fatty and Lean animal protein. That should always be the #1 thing to do.

  • Try Eating different Animal Protein with your meals. A lot of people do not do well with Pork and Bacon.

  • Eat Salads with your meal. Salad with olive oil + vinegar/lemon juice is perfect. Salad with mayo + mustard like coleslaw is also good.

  • Do not eat Nightshade vegetables - potato (but not sweet potato), tomato and any red sauce, all peppers (but not black pepper), red spices, eggplant.

  • Eat Rice, Sweet Potato, Yuca, Taro, fried Green Plantains.

  • Eat Mushrooms with your meal.

  • Eat Avocados or other vegetables you like with your meal.

  • Eat Nuts (Walnuts is a good choice). But don't eat lectins-heavy peanuts, cashews, and almonds.

  • Add Olives into your meal.

  • Eat a little dark chocolate after meal.

  • Drink Black Coffee. Hot or cold. Coffee can tame carbs cravings for some people.

  • Drink Unsweetened Sparkling Water. It can work well for some people.

  • Drink Water only between meals. For some people, drinking anything but water (make it spring water) can trigger carbs cravings. In that case you just have to drink water only, no matter how boring it is.

Always have some ready-to-eat-cold cuts of meat, cheese, and hard boiled eggs in the refrigerator to snack on.

Have some meat ready to eat cold (as a snack) in your refrigerator for when you crave carbs in between meals. Leave some bacon strips in the refrigerator after your cook it, leave some steak after your cook it, some chicken, some salmon, things like prosciutto, roast-beef, etc... Always have some ready-to-eat-cold cuts of meat in the refrigerator you can eat right away.

Have hard boiled eggs ready to eat. Just hard boil them in advance and leave them in the refrigerator. Then just cut them in half, add a little mayo, capers, salt on them.

Buy various cheeses you like and have them ready.

Eat cold meat with cheese and deviled eggs as you crave carbs in between meals. Ideally you don't want to snack obviously. But keep snacking on meat+cheese+eggs as you are adapting. No need to be hungry and crave carbs. Particularly as you are trying to go to sleep.
